Powell and Welch Almshouse Charity

Charity Trustee Vacancies

The Powell and Welch Almshouse Charity runs 8 social housing units within Bitteswell. There are six Grade II listed houses and two modern apartments. In recent years the charity has modernised all of the older units. The charity aims to provide convenient, comfortable and secure accommodation for people who would be unable to fund a property from their own resources. When vacancies occur, Bitteswell residents receive priority.

The Charity is seeking to fill several vacancies for voluntary trustees. Trustees are responsible for the administration and operation of the charity, including arranging for the maintenance of the properties. They meet in the evening, about five times a year. If you have specialist skills, that's great, but what you need most, is lots of common-sense and a willingness to contribute to the Bitteswell community. Applications in the form of a short letter explaining why you are interested, should be emailed to Marion Reid, Clerk to the Trustees by 26 May 2021. Email: powellandwelch@gmail.com For an informal chat about the role Tel 01455 557821
